There is a direct link between the inability to access quality education and poverty. Family Development and Samaritan Foundation strives to reach the marginalized to break this cycle. All proceeds collected from FDSF Summer Camp goes towards FDSF Initiatives to increase the quality of life for children and their families.

  • According to UNESCO, 263 million children are without education across the globe.

  • More than 30 million children are growing up in poverty. In one low-income community, there was only one book for every 300 children.

  • A higher percentage of young adults (31%) without a high school diploma live in poverty, compared to the 24% of young people who finished high school.

  • 1 in 5 children who live in poverty in the US don't have money for school supplies.

  • 40% of children living in poverty aren’t prepared for primary schooling.
